We Did It!

8 07 2009

Just wanted to post this bit of positiveness (is that a word?)

Last week our dryer broke.  It had been making horrible noises for a few weeks, so I wasn’t surprised when it quit.  The tumbler quit tumbling.  Homer said to call my dad, because he (Homer) was on his way out.  So I did.

My dad said it sounded like a broken belt.  Lift up the top and look and see.

Well, our top wouldn’t lift up, so I googled our particular dryer and found out the front cover had to come off.  I called the youngest down to the basement, and we went to work.  Sure enough, the belt was laying in the bottom of the dryer.

My dad said he could fix it for me if we could get the part before he left for FL.  None of us needed laundry done that minute, so I opted for the way cheaper price on ebay.

The belt came monday.  Dad was gone. Homer was sleeping.  So youngest and I went to work (again).  It took a little bit of maneuvering, and feeling around to see if the belt was on the pulleys right, but I think we did it.

I say “think we did it” because no one has actually washed any clothes yet and used the dryer.  But when we turned it on, it sounded okay…..I will most likely find out later today.  Wish me luck :)

“I am woman, hear me roar …!”

You should be most proud of yourself for doing that. I would be. Heck, I am proud FOR you! :-)

I suppose you are at 112 today? How many more days until vacation?
